Optics / Optik:
The little Cuban shows itself in a classic colorado color. Some leaf veins give the cigar a rather coarse appearance.
Due to the dull wrapper and a slightly square shape the cigar looks older than 4 years.

Die kleine Kubanerin zeigt sich in einem klassischen Colorado. Einige Blattadern geben der Zigarre ein eher gröberes Aussehen.
Durch das matte Deckblatt und eine leicht quadratische Form wirkt die Zigarre deutlich älter als 4 Jahre.

Cold smell / Kaltgeruch:
The cigar also shows a good maturing in cold smell. Besides a slightly muffled base smell, fresh notes of cedar wood, leather and some citrus are noticeable.

Auch im Kaltgeruch zeigt sich die Zigarre gut gereift. Neben einem leicht dumpfen Grundgeruch sind auch frische Noten nach Zedernholz, Leder und etwas Zitrus feststellbar.

1st half / 1. Hälfte:
From the beginning, clear wood aromas dominate the balanced smoking experience. In the background there is a hint of pepper, which again indicates a somewhat younger cigar. A light leather note completes the aroma of the first half.

Von Beginn an dominieren deutliche Holzaromen den ausgewogenen Rauchgenuss. Im Hintergrund schwingt etwas Pfeffer mit, welcher wiederum für eine etwas jüngere Zigarre spricht. Eine leichte Ledernote rundet das Arome der ersten Hälfte ab.

2nd half / 2. Hälftel:
The strong wood aromas also dominate the second half. The pepper, meanwhile, is further reduced here. In its place, the leather aromas continue to emerge.
Unfortunately, I missed the light citrus notes throughout the smoking process, which I often noticed with Bolivar in the past. Nevertheless a beautiful and honest cigar. An unconditional recommendation.

Die kräftigen Holzaromen dominieren auch die zweite Hälfte. Der Pfeffer nimmt sich hier jedoch weiter zurück. An seiner Stelle treten die Lederaromen weiter vor.
Leider habe ich über den gesamten Rauchverlauf die leichten Zitrusnoten vermisst, die ich früher bei Bolivar oft festgestellt habe. Dennoch eine schöne und ehrliche Zigarre. Eine unbedingte Empfehlung.

H. Upmann - Mini

This small cigarillo was made under licence in Spain over 20 years ago. It is of course machine made.

Dieser kleine Zigarillo wurde auf Lizenz maschinell vor über 20 Jahren in Spanien gefertigt.

First impression / Erster Eindruck:
Despite its age of over 20 years, the cigarillo still has a strong cold smell of pine wood. This is rounded off by aromas of menthol and a floral note.

Trotz seines Alters von über 20 Jahren, weist der Zigarillo noch einen kräftigen Kaltgeruch nach Kiefernholz auf. Dieser wird durch Aromen von Menthol und einer blumigen Note abgerundet.

Smoking trend / Rauchverlauf:
Actually, you can't seriously speak of a smoking trend with such a small cigarillo. Nevertheless, a few changes can be noticed. The Mini starts with a strong woody note which decreases quite fast. In spite of the small amount of tobacco, it appears surprisingly complex and develops both wood and leather notes.
From the middle I find a light cedar wood note next to floral aromas.

Eigentlich kann man bei einem kleinen Zigarillo nicht ernsthaft von einem Rauchverlauf sprechen. Dennoch sind ein paar Änderungen feststellbar. Die Mini startet mit einer kräftigen Holznoten welche recht schnell abnimmt. Trotz der geringen Tabakmenge wirkt sie erstaunlich komplex und entwickelt neben den Holz- auch Ledernoten.
Ab der Mitte finde ich neben blumigen Aromen eine leichte Zedernholznote.

Optics / Optik:
The elegant Lonsdale shows itself in a classic colorado. Over the years the wrapper has lost some of its shine, making it look a little dull. It has a fine structure with only a few, hardly visible leaf veins.

Die elegante Lonsdale zeigt sich in einem klassischen Colorado. Im Laufe der Jahre hat das Deckblatt etwas von seinem Glanz verloren, sodass es etwas matt wirkt. Es weist eine feine Struktur mit nur wenigen, kaum sichtbaren Blattadern auf.

Cold smell / Kaltgeruch:
At first I perceive a smell that reminds me of very old wood. In the background a slightly flowery note resonates. Next to it I find light scents of leather, orchid and honey.

Zuerst nehme ich einen Geruch wahr, der mich an sehr altes Holz erinnert. Im Hintergrund schwingt eine leicht blumige Note mit. Daneben finde ich leichte Gerüche nach Leder, Orchidee und Honig.

1st third / 1. Drittel:
The cigar starts quite nutty and mildly woody. Aromas of white coffee and caramel finish up the sweet start. Already in fresh condition the cigar was round and creamy and has improved in this respect over the years.

Die Zigarre startet recht nussig und mild-holzig. Aromen von Milchkaffee und Karamell runden den süßen Beginn ab. Obwohl schon jung rund und cremig, so hat sie sich diesbezüglich nochmal deutlich gesteigert.

2nd third / 2. Drittel:
The creamy foundation of milk coffee and caramel remains dominant even in the middle section. The aromas are complemented by a subtle spiciness of garden herbs. Furthermore, the first wood aromas appear.

Das cremige Fundament aus Milchkaffee und Karamell bleibt auch im mittleren dominierend. Ergänzt werden die Aromen durch eine hintergründige Würzigkeit nach Gartenkräutern. Weiterhin tauchen erste Holzaromen auf.

3rd third / 3. Drittel:
In the last third the sweetness decreases more and more. Instead, the woody aromas continue and come to the foreground. The aromas of garden herbs are also more noticeable here. In addition, the coffee aromas, which are also still present, fit very well.

Im letzten Drittel nimmt sich die Süße weiter zurück. Dafür treten die Holzaromen weiter in den Vordergrund. Die Aromen von Gartenkräutern sind ebenfalls hier deutlicher feststellbar. Ergänzend passen die ebenfalls noch vorhandenen Kaffeearomen sehr gut.

Conclusion / Fazit:
A great cigar that has become better and better over the years.

Eine tolle Zigarre, die im Laufe der Jahre immer besser geworden ist.
