Optics / Optik:
The small "frog" comes in a beautiful oily colorado-maduro-colored wrapper. A few veins do not disturb the optical appearance. I especially like the curled head and the green anila with the golden frog.

Der kleine „Frosch“ kommt in einem schönen öligen colorado-madurofarbenen Deckblatt daher. Ein paar wenige Adern stören die optische Erscheinung nicht. Besonders schön finde den eingeringelten Kopf und die grüne Anila mit dem goldfarbenen Frosch.

Cold smell / Kaltgeruch:
In the first impression I notice smells of creamy caramel, roasted almonds and hazelnut. In addition there is an aromatic floral note of roses. A rather unusual cold smell for a cigar.

Im ersten Eindruck nehme ich Gerüche von Sahnekaramell, gerösteten Mandeln und Haselnuss war. Dazu kommt eine aromatische florale Note nach Rose. Ein eher ungewöhnlicher Kaltgeruch für eine Zigarre.

1st half / 1. Hälfte:
The cigar starts with strong wooden and roasted aromas. This is accompanied by a minimal bitterness, which goes very well with the timber aromas. I am reminded of deforested and burnt rainforest, for whose protection parts of the sales profit are used.
On the other hand I don't like the relatively dark ash, which has only a medium stability.

Die Zigarre startet mit kräftigen Holz- und Röstaromen. Dazu gesellt sich eine minimale Bitterkeit, die sehr gut zu den Holzaromen passt. Ich fühle mich an abgeholzten und verbrannten Regenwald erinnert, zu dessen Schutz Teile des Verkaufserlöses verwendet werden.
Nicht ganz so schön finde ich die relativ dunkle Asche, die nur eine mittlere Stabilität aufweist.

2nd half / 2. Hälfte:
In the second half the aroma picture remains almost unchanged. I think there is some moss here, which also fits very well to the forest theme of the cigar. But the aromas of burnt woods still remain dominant. Nevertheless, sweet honey notes appear at the very end, which round off the delicious smoking experience.

In der zweiten Hälfte ändert sich das Aromenbild kaum. Ich glaube hier zusätzlich etwas Moos festzustellen, was ebenfalls sehr gut zum Waldthema der Zigarre passt. Die Aromen nach verbranntem Holz bleiben aber weiterhin dominant. Dennoch kommen ganz zum Schluss süße Honignoten auf, die den leckeren Rauchgenuss abrunden.

Nachdem ich vor Kurzem bereits die Brun del Ré - Special Edition Gold Robusto Immenso getestet habe, ist nun die nächste Zigarre der Marke an der Reihe.


First impression / Erster Eindruck:
Optically this cigar is also flawless. The Colorado Maduro wrapper has an extremely silky and smooth surface. Slightly greasy.
In the cold smell very nutty with distinct coffee aromas. Here, too, a light herbal note resonates. Olfactory also very appealing.

Optisch ist auch diese Zigarre makellos. Das Colorado-madurofarbene Deckblatt weist eine äußerst samtige und glatte Oberfläche auf. Leicht speckig.
Im Kaltgeruch sehr nussig mit deutlichen Kaffeearomen. Auch hier schwingt eine leichte Kräuternoten mit. Olfaktorisch ebenfalls sehr ansprechend.

Course / Rauchverlauf:
Contrary to the rather sweet cold smell, the thick Toro begins with spicy bitter notes. Somewhat surprising for me but not unpleasant. In addition, woody aromas are clearly noticeable for me. From the middle on there are additional aromas of garden herbs. Here also the bitter notes decrease a bit.
Towards the end I find the cigar increasingly aromatic. Beside nutty aromas I find herbs and beautiful roast aromas. Here the cigar develops a beautiful depth.
I would classify the cigar as mild to medium strong.

Entgegen des eher süßlichen Kaltgeruchs beginnt die dicke Toro mit würzigen Bitternoten. Etwas überraschend für mich aber nicht unangenehm. Dazu sind für mich holzige Aromen deutlich feststellbar. Ab der Mitte kommen zusätzlich Aromen nach Gartenkräutern auf. Hier lassen dann auch die Bitternoten etwas nach.
Zum Ende hin empfinde ich die Zigarre als zunehmend aromatischer. Neben nussigen Aromen finde ich Kräuter und schöne Röstaromen. Hier entwickelt die Zigarre eine schöne Tiefe.
Ich würde die Zigarre als mild bis mittelkräftig einstufen.

Cigars from Costa Rica are normally not in my focus. But sometimes curiosity wins out and as a self-confessed Cubafan you sometimes order a Noncuba sampler.

Zigarren aus Costa Rica habe ich normal so gar nicht auf dem Schirm. Aber manchmal siegt die Neugier und man bestellt als bekennender Kubafan auch schon mal einen Noncuba-Sampler.

First impression / Erster Eindruck:
Visually, the short, plump cigar looks very appealing. A beautiful, colorado-colored wrapper with a few greasy spots. Hardly visible veins and a flawless surface.
The positive impression is underlined by the distinct cold smell of green tea and sweet cream.

Optisch sieht die kurze, dicke Zigarre schon einmal sehr ansprechend aus. Ein schönes, coloradofarbenes Deckblatt mit ein paar wenigen speckigen Spots. Kaum sichtbare Adern und eine makellose Oberfläche.
Der positive Eindruck wird durch den deutlichen Kaltgeruch nach grünem Tee und süßer Sahne noch einmal unterstrichen.



Course / Rauchverlauf:
The aroma is just as appealing as the optics and the coldsmell. In the very creamy smoke, woody aromas of oak and resinous fir are immediately noticeable. In the background, a slight sweetness reminds me of caramel sweets. Some of the green tea aromas can also be found here. Towards the end, the strength of the balanced cigar increases slightly, which completes the spicy smoking pleasure.

Ebenso ansprechend wie Optik und Kaltgeruch gestaltet sich die Aromatik. In dem sehr cremigen Rauch sind sofort holzige Aromen nach Eiche und etwas harzige Tanne feststellbar. Im Hintergrund erinnern mich eine leichte Süße an Karamellbonbons. Teilweise lassen sich die Aromen nach grünem Tee auch hier finden. Zum Ende hin nimmt die Stärke der ausgewogenen Zigarre etwas zu, was den würzigen Rauchgenuss abrundet.
