Optics / Optik:
As all the Fonsecas, the Delicias dresses in a sleeve of tissue paper. Underneath, in this case, an extremely dark maduro-coloured wrapper appears. Unfortunately, it has a rather rough structure with several well visible veins, which has a negative influence on the optical impression. Optically, this Fonseca reminds me of a shortfiller from brazil tobacco.

Wie alle Fonsecas, so kleidet sich die Delicias in eine Hülle von Seidenpapier. Darunter kommt in diesem Fall ein extrem dunkles madurofarbenes Deckblatt zum Vorschein. Leider ist es von recht grober Struktur mit etlichen gut sichtbaren Adern, was den optischen Eindruck negativ beeinflusst. Optisch erinnert mich diese Fonseca an einen Brasil-Shortfiller.

Cold smell / Kaltgeruch:
At first I notice the pleasantly spicy and flowery note. Cedar wood, flower meadow and lavender are some of the keywords that come to my mind. In the background I perceive a pleasant cocoa and noisette note. Thereby the bad optical impression is compensated a little bit.

Zuerst fällt mir die angenehm würzig-blumige Note auf. Zedernholz, Blumenwiese und Lavendel fallen mir als Stichworte ein. Im Hintergrund nehme ich eine angenehme Kakao- und Noisettenote wahr. Dadurch wird der schlechte optische Eindruck wieder etwas ausgeglichen.

1st third / 1. Drittel:
As with almost all Cuban cigars, different wood aromas provide the aroma foundation. This is supported by a floral component that reminds me of fresh hay. Added to this is a mild note of milk chocolate.

Wie bei fast allen kubanischen Zigarren bilden verschiedene Holzaromen das Aromafundament. Dieses wird unterstützt durch eine florale Komponente, die mich an frisches Heu erinnert. Hinzukommt eine milde Note nach Milchschokolade.

2nd third / 2. Drittel:
In the middle part the wooden aromas diminish somewhat. In its place there is an aroma impression that reminds me of smouldering grass. The notes of dark chocolate, which increase more and more, go well with it.

Im Mittelteil nehmen die Holzaromen etwas ab. An seine Stelle tritt ein Aromaeindruck, der mich an schwelendes Gras erinnert. Dazu passen hervorragend Noten von dunkler Schokolade, welche mehr und mehr zunehmen.

3rd third / 3. Drittel:
Towards the end the small cigar develops more wood aromas again. These remind me of oak and cedar wood. In addition, the aromas of dark chocolate in the background are still noticeable. But these are somewhat softened by a floral impression.

Zum Ende hin entwickelt die kleine Zigarre wieder vermehrt Holzaromen. Diese erinnern mich an Eichen- und Zedernholz. Dazu bleiben die Aromen nach dunkler Schokolade im Hintergrund weiterhin feststellbar. Diese werden aber durch einen blumigen Eindruck etwas abgemildert.

Conclusion / Fazit:
Despite the visual shortcomings, the Fonseca - Delicias is a round cigar with a complex and delicious taste. If you are looking for a smaller and rather mild cigar, you will find a delicious recommendation from the Cuban shelf here.

Trotz der optischen Unzulänglichkeiten ist die Fonseca - Delicias eine runde und durch komplexe leckere Zigarre. Wer eine kleinere und eher milde Zigarre sucht findet hier eine leckere Empfehlung aus dem Kubaregal.

Ramón Allones - Robusto XXL ER BeLux (2015)

Optics / Optik:
The ER has a spotless wrapper. Smooth and slightly greasy. I would classify the wrapper in terms of colorado-maduro.

Die ER weist ein makelloses Deckblatt auf. Samtig und leicht speckig. Farblich würde ich das Deckblatt bei Colorado-Maduro einordnen.

1st third / 1. Drittel:
As expected, the cigar starts off strongly woody. Also as expected, strong leathery aromas form the additional aroma foundation. Where wood and leather appear here in a rough form, aromas of hazelnut, almond and coffee form a sweeter background.

Erwartungsgemäß startet die Zigarre kräftig holzig. Ebenso erwartungsgemäß bilden kräftig ledrige Aromen das weitere Aromenfundament. Wo Holz und Leder hier in einer derben Form auftreten, bilden Aromen nach Haselnuss, Mandel und Kaffee einen süßeren Hintergrund.

2nd third / 2. Drittel:
In the middle, the nutty aromas come to the foreground, while the wood and leather are somewhat less pronounced. In the further background, floral aromas reminiscent of orchids emerge. I wouldn't have expected that from Ramón Allones.

Im Mittelteil treten die nussigen Aromen in den Vordergrund, während sich Holz und Leder etwas zurücknehmen. Im weiteren Hintergrund tauchenleicht blumige Aromen auf, die an Orchideen erinnern. Das hätte ich bei Ramón Allones nicht unbedinge erwartet.

3rd third / 3. Drittel:
In the last third, the woody aromas come to the fore again, while the aromatic part recedes again somewhat. As a substitute, strong roasted aromas after burnt toast can now be noted.

Im letzten Drittel treten die holzigen Aromen wieder in den Vordergrund, während sich der aromatische Teil wieder etwas zurücknimmt. Als Ersat dafür sind nun kräftige Röstaromen nach verbranntem Toast feststellbar.

Conclusion / Fazit:
A wonderfully diversified cigar, which, in my opinion, brings out the typical Ramón Allones aroma very well. A cigar with very good ripening potential, which is already very good smokable.

Eine wunderbar abwechslungsreiche Zigarre, welche das, meiner Meinung nach, typische Ramón Allones-Aroma sehr gut zur Geltung bringt. Eine Zigarre mit sehr gutem Reifungspotential, die schon jetzt sehr gut rauchbar ist.

Bolívar - Petit Corona (2015)

Nice colorado-maduro, greasy, some visible veins, slightly boxpressed.
Schönes Colorado-Maduro, speckig, leicht sichtbare Adern, etwas boxpressed.

Coldsmell / Kaltgeruch:
Pleasantly spicy, woody, minimal chocolate aromas.
Angenehm würzig, holzig, minimale Schokoladenaromen.

1st third / 1. Drittel:
Delicious spicy, powerful woody. As expected, some citrus and light herbs in the background.
Lecker würzig, kräftig holzig. Erwartungsgemäß etwas Zitrus, im Hintergrund leichte Kräuteraromen.

2nd third / 2. Drittel:
Still strong, very woody. In the middle part additional saddle leather. Somewhat unbalanced.
Weiterhin kräftig, ausgesprochen holzig. In der Mitte jedoch zusätzlich Sattlerleder. Noch etwas unausgewogen.

3rd third / 3. Drittel:
Towards the end comes a surprising sweetness reminding of marzipan. In addition, clear herbal aromas. The woody aromas have almost completely disappeared.
Gegen Ende kommt überraschend Süße auf, die an Marzipan erinnert. Dazu deutliche Kräuteraromen. Die Holzaromen sind fast vollständig verschwunden.

Diplomáticos - El Ambajador ER 2015 Países Bajos

Significantly bright Colorado, delicate shiny wrapper, a few veins disturb only minimally the overall picture.
Recht helles Colorado, feines glänzendes Deckblatt, einige wenige Adern stören das Gesamtbild nur minimal.

Coldsmell / Kaltgeruch:
Milk chocolate, cedar wood, slightly flowery, very aromatic.
Milchschokolade, Zedernholz, leicht blumig, sehr aromatisch.

1st third / 1. Drittel:
As expected, the cigar starts quite mild, but highly aromatic. Cedar and leather are the predominant aromas. After the first centimeter aromas of freshly roasted hazelnuts join the cigar. Compared with a Diplomáticos - No. 2 the El Ambajador seems a little more aromatic.
Erwartungsgemäß startet die Zigarre recht mild, jedoch hoch aromatisch. Zedernholz und Leder sind die vorherrschenden Aromen. Dazu kommen nach dem ersten Zentimeter Aromen nach frisch gerösteten Haselnüssen. Im Vergleich mit einer Diplomáticos - No. 2 erscheint mir die El Ambajador eine Spur aromatischer.

2nd third / 2. Drittel:
The flavors remain fairly constant in the middle part, but without being boring. Cedar, leather and some hazelnut. Here complemented by floral overtones.
Die Aromen bleiben auch im mittleren Teil recht konstant, ohne jedoch langweilig zu werden. Zedernholz, Leder und etwas Haselnuss. Hier jedoch durch einen floralen Beiklang ergänzt.

3rd third / 3. Drittel:
Near the end, in contrast to the No. 2, the cigar is only barely stronger. This results in a harmonious overall picture. The cedar flavors, however, in favor of a strong leather note are almost completely disappeared. Until the end the complexity and depth of flavors make the cigar to a real treat.
Im Gegensatz zur No. 2 wird die Zigarre gegen Ende kaum stärker. Dadurch ergibt sich ein harmonischeres Gesamtbild. Die Zedernholzaromen sind jedoch zugunsten einer kräftigen Ledernote fast vollständig verschwunden. Die Komplexität und Tiefe der Aromen machen die Zigarre bis zum Schluss zu einem Hochgenuss.

Mild nussig, Milchschokolade, etwas blumig.

1st third / 1. Drittel:
The cigar starts quite mild. Leather aromas with a background of hazelnut. In addition, a subtle sweetness. Overall, a mild and complex entry.
Die Zigarre startet recht mild. Lederaromen mit einem Hintergrund aus Haselnuss. Dazu eine subtile Süße. Insgesamt ein mild-komplexer Einstieg.

2nd third / 2. Drittel:
As a basic flavor the leather aromas are also further present. But here they come to the fore. They are here supplemented by woody aromas.
Als Grundaroma bleiben die Lederaromen auch weiterhin präsent, treten hier jedoch mehr in den Vordergrund. Ergänzt werden sie hier jedoch durch eher holzige Aromen.

3rd third / 3. Drittel:
At the end of the previously quite mild cigar vigorously gained. The clear strength forms an interesting contrast to the rather floral aromas. Simultaneously, the cigar is quite complex.
Gegen Ende legt die bisher recht milde Zigarre kräftig zu. Die deutliche Stärke bildet einen interessanten Kontrast zu den eher floralen Aromen. Gleichzeitig bleibt die Zigarre recht komplex.
