Connecticut Shade wrappers I always see as being particularly fine and filigree. This one is no exception. Due to the almost non-existent veining and the colorado-claro-colored, slightly greenish coloring, the very high quality wrapper almost seems artificial.

Connecticut Shade Deckblätter empfinde ich immer als besonders fein und filigran. Dieses hier macht da keine Ausnahme. Durch die quasi nicht vorhandene Äderung und die colorado-claro-farbene, leicht grünstichige Färbung wirkt das qualitativ sehr hochwertige Deckblatt fast schon künstlich.

Cold smell / Kaltgeruch:
Typical of this tobacco, distinct smells of sun-warmed hay rise to my nose. In addition to the grassy hay, I continue to perceive aromas of meadow flowers, wild herbs and some hazelnut.

Tabaktypisch steigen mir deutliche Gerüche nach sonnenwarmem Heu in die Nase. Neben dem grasigen Heu nehme ich weiterhin Aromen nach Wiesenblumen, Wildkräuter und etwas Haselnuss wahr.

Smoking trend / Rauchverlauf:

Die imposante Zigarre beeindruckt nicht nur durch ihre Größe, sondern auch durch die schöne Optik. Das wunderschöne, speckige Deckblatt weist eine feine Struktur ohne nennenswerte Äderung auf. Farblich zeigt sich die Zigarre in einem satten Colorado.

Cold smell / Kaltgeruch:
When cold, the cigar seems to me olfactory somewhat milder than a Montecristo from the standard portfolio. I perceive cocoa and a rich sweetness in addition to a mild woody note. Nutty and creamy aromas round out the picture harmoniously.

In kaltem Zustand erscheint mir die Zigarre olfaktorisch etwas milder als eine Montecristo aus dem Standardportfolio. Ich nehme neben einer milden Holznote Kakao und eine fette Süße war. Nussige und sahnige Aromen runden das Bild harmonisch ab.

1st third / 1. Drittel:
Contrary to the cold smell, the cigar starts strongly woody. Nevertheless, it is very balanced and creamy with a complex aroma picture. I perceive aromas of dark chocolate, but no sweetness. This fits a background, slight bitter note. All in all, a pleasant spicy smoking enjoyment.

Entgegen dem Kaltgeruch startet die Zigarre kräftig holzig. Trotzdem ist sie sehr ausgewogen und cremig mit einem komplexen Aromenbild. Ich nehme Aromen nach dunkler Schokolade, jedoch keine Süße war. Hierzu passt eine hintergründige, leichte Bitternote. Alles in allen ein angenehm würziger Rauchgenuss.

2nd third / 2. Drittel:
Woody aromas also dominate in the middle range. The cigar seems a bit creamier here and underlines the extremely round impression. An increasing spiciness reminds me of garden herbs and an emerging sweetness of sweetened espresso. A very dense and complex aromatics.

Auch im mittleren Bereich dominieren holzige Aromen. Die Zigarre wirkt hier noch etwas cremiger und unterstreicht den äußerst runden Eindruck. Eine zunemende Würzigkeit erinnert mich an Gartenkräuter und eine aufkommende Süße an gesüßten Espresso. Eine sehr dichte und komplexe Aromatik.

3rd third / 3. Drittel:
As expected from Montecristo, the woody flavors also form the foundation in the last third. Likewise, the creaminess remains, which together with light coffee notes reminds me of cappuccino with nut liqueur. On the last centimeters, a light leather aroma is added, which supports the wood flavors very well.

Wie bei Montecristo zu erwarten, bilden auch im letzten Drittel die holzigen Aromen das Fundament. Ebenso bleibt auch die Cremigkeit erhalten, die mich zusammen mit leichten Kaffeenoten an Cappuccino mit Nusslikör erinnert. Auf den letzten Zentimetern kommt noch eine leichte Lederaromatik hinzu, die die Holzaromen sehr gut unterstützt.

Like most of the Habanos Collectión cigars, this one is clearly highlighted from the standard portfolio. Spicy-complex with a clear depth and an exceptional format.

Wie die meisten Zigarren der Habanos-Collectión ist auch diese aus dem Standardportfolio deutlich hervorgehoben. Würzig-komplex mit einer deutlichen Tiefe und einem außergewöhnlichen Format.

Visually, the colorado colored Petit Corona can only be described as perfect. The silky wrapper is of an evenness of texture and has hardly any leaf veins.

Optisch kann die coloradofarbene Petit Corona nur als perfekt bezeichnet werden. Das seidige Deckblatt ist von gleichmäßiger Struktur und weist kaum Blattadern auf.

As expected, the cigar spreads a fairly mild cold smell. Nutty with a mild woody note.

Erwartungsgemäß verströmt die Zigarre einen recht milden Kaltgeruch. Nussig mir einer milden Holznote.

In contrast to the restrained cold smell, the small cigar shows a clear aroma. Primarily I perceive a very balanced wood note. Im Gegensatz zum verhaltenen Kaltgeruch zeigt die kleine Zigarre eine deutliche Aromatik. Primär nehme ich eine sehr ausgewogene Holznote war. Darin schön eingebunden finde ich von Aromen nach Haselnuss und Gartenkräutern. Gleichzeitig entwickelt sich eine Honigsüße, die im Rauchverlauf kontinuierlich zunimmt. Über allem schwebt eine leichte Salzigkeit die mich an Meer und Strand erinnert und die ich als typisch für Trinidad empfinde.
Gegen Ende entwickeln sich zusätzlich etwas herbere Noten. Ich stelle hier neben einer deutlichen Holznote auch erdige Anklänge und leichte Tannine.

Conclusion / Fazit:

I am always surprised how well the little cigar has developed in recent years. For me, it's another reason why it pays to be patient and let Habanos age for a while.

Ich bin immer wieder überrascht, wie gut sich die kleine Zigarre in den letzten Jahren entwickelt hast. Für mich ist sie ein weiterer Grund, warum es sich lohnt, geduldig zu sein und Habanos eine gewisse Zeit nachreifen zu lassen.
