New Habanos-Cigars in 2017

Like every year, also this year rumors, which new cigars reach us from Cuba im 2017. Although it is not an official information, it is believed that the list would have to agree for the most part. Particularly in terms of availability, I must doubt. Some will probably come to market in 2018. However, here is the list:

But even here It can be seen the trend towards larger ring sizes. Even with the Cubans. That surprises me a bit. The last tobacco crops were not too good. And when I think that for large formats much tobacco is needed, I'm worried about the availability and/or the quality of the cigars. I personally doubt. But the future will tell.

Coldsmell / Kaltgeruch:
Law vigorously, tingling in the nose. Dark chocolate, some hazelnut spicy.
Recht kräftig, kribbelt in der Nase, dunkle Schokolade, etwas Haselnuss, würzig.

Impressions / Eindrücke
The cigar develops quite mild. Nevertheless delicious aromatic. Light sweet flavors emphasize this impression. Noisette, coffee, a little hazelnut. However, the spiced components are not neglected. Woody flavors are also available and form a nice addition.

Die Zigarre entwickelt sich recht mild. Dennoch lecker aromatisch. Eher süßliche Aromen unterstreichen diesen Eindruck. Noisette, Kaffee, etwas Haselnuss. Allerdings kommen auch die herben Komponenten nicht zu kurz. Die ebenfalls vorhandenen holzigen Aromen bilden eine schöne Ergänzung.

These impressions are continued until the end and make the cigar to a very pleasant smoke, never overwhelmed.
Along with a coffee or a not too sweet rum a wonderful cigar for the morning or the early afternoon.
Also suitable for a rather inexperienced smokers.

Diese Eindrücke setzen sich bis zum Ende fort und machen die Zigarre zu einem sehr angenehmen Smoke, der nie überfordert.
Zusammen mit einem Kaffee oder einem nicht zu süßen Rum eine wunderbare Zigarre für den Vormittag oder den frühen Nachmittag.
Auch für einen noch nicht so erfahrenen Raucher geeignet.

Diplomáticos - El Ambajador ER 2015 Países Bajos

Optics / Optik
Significantly bright Colorado, delicate shiny wrapper, a few veins disturb only minimally the overall picture.
Recht helles Colorado, feines glänzendes Deckblatt, einige wenige Adern stören das Gesamtbild nur minimal.

Coldsmell / Kaltgeruch:
Milk chocolate, cedar wood, slightly flowery, very aromatic.
Milchschokolade, Zedernholz, leicht blumig, sehr aromatisch.

1st third / 1. Drittel:
As expected, the cigar starts quite mild, but highly aromatic. Cedar and leather are the predominant aromas. After the first centimeter aromas of freshly roasted hazelnuts join the cigar. Compared with a Diplomáticos - No. 2 the El Ambajador seems a little more aromatic.
Erwartungsgemäß startet die Zigarre recht mild, jedoch hoch aromatisch. Zedernholz und Leder sind die vorherrschenden Aromen. Dazu kommen nach dem ersten Zentimeter Aromen nach frisch gerösteten Haselnüssen. Im Vergleich mit einer Diplomáticos - No. 2 erscheint mir die El Ambajador eine Spur aromatischer.

2nd third / 2. Drittel:
The flavors remain fairly constant in the middle part, but without being boring. Cedar, leather and some hazelnut. Here complemented by floral overtones.
Die Aromen bleiben auch im mittleren Teil recht konstant, ohne jedoch langweilig zu werden. Zedernholz, Leder und etwas Haselnuss. Hier jedoch durch einen floralen Beiklang ergänzt.

3rd third / 3. Drittel:
Near the end, in contrast to the No. 2, the cigar is only barely stronger. This results in a harmonious overall picture. The cedar flavors, however, in favor of a strong leather note are almost completely disappeared. Until the end the complexity and depth of flavors make the cigar to a real treat.
Im Gegensatz zur No. 2 wird die Zigarre gegen Ende kaum stärker. Dadurch ergibt sich ein harmonischeres Gesamtbild. Die Zedernholzaromen sind jedoch zugunsten einer kräftigen Ledernote fast vollständig verschwunden. Die Komplexität und Tiefe der Aromen machen die Zigarre bis zum Schluss zu einem Hochgenuss.
