Optics / Optik:
I personally like the double-figuardos. No matter what size they are, they look elegant to me in a certain sense. The Tradicionales is a smaller format of the brand Cuaba. Like most Cuabas, the finely structured wrapper is classic colorado.

Ich persönlich mag ja die Doppel-Figuardos. Egal in welcher Größe wirken sie auf mich in gewisser Hinsicht elegant. Bei der Tradicionales handelt es sich um ein kleineres Format der Marke Cuaba. Das feinstrukturierte Deckblatt und ist wie die meisten Cuabas klassisch coloradofarben.

Cold smell / Kaltgeruch:
The first thing I take is a chocolaty smell of coffee. A little later, at the second "look" I discover smells of garden herbs, cedar wood and some soil. The result is a spicy and aromatic overall impression.

Als erstes nehme ich einen schokoladigen Kaffeegeruch war. Etwas später, auf den zweiten „Blick“ entdecke ich Gerüche nach Gartenkräutern, Zedernholz und etwas Erde. Es entsteht ein würzig-aromatischer Gesamteindruck.

Smoking trend / Rauchverlauf:
Due to its shape, the cigar begins very restrained at first. With increasing diameter the cigar gains strength. Primarily I take strong wood aromas. These are complemented by earthy notes in the background. A rather harsh smoking pleasure, which becomes rounder and milder as the cigar continues.
From the halfway point, additional aromas of black coffee and wholemeal bread appear. In addition a profound sweetness, which rounds off the pleasure.

Der Form geschuldet beginnt die Zigarre zunächst sehr verhalten. Mit zunehmendem Durchmesser gewinnt die Zigarre an Kraft. Primär nehme ich kräftige Holzaromen war. Diese werden im Hintergrund durch erdige Noten ergänzt. Ein eher herber Rauchgenuss, der im weiteren Verlauf runder und milder wird.
Ab der Hälfte kommen zusätzlich Aromen nach schwarzem Kaffee und Vollkornbrot auf. Dazu ein hintergründige Süße, die den Genuss abrundet.

Optics / Optik:
The beautiful, colorado-maduro colored wrapper has a nice baconiness. Despite a few small leaf veins the cigar looks very attractive.

Das schöne, colorado-madurofarbene Deckblatt weist eine schöne Speckigkeit auf. Trotz ein paar kleiner Blattadern wirkt die Zigarre sehr ansprechend.

Cold smell / Kaltgeruch:
The cigar exudes a beguiling smell of dark chocolate and a little honey. The smell is almost sticky. In the background I still find dark complex notes.

Die Zigarre verströmt einen betörenden Geruch nach dunkler Schokolade und etwas Honig. Der Geruch wirkt schon fast etwas klebrig. Im Hintergrund nehme ich weiterhin dunkle komplexe Noten war.

Smoking trend / Rauchverlauf:
The beautiful dense and creamy smoke has a complex aroma structure from the start. Besides a nice herbal note, spicy wood aromas dominate, which are accompanied by a pleasant background sweetness.
Towards the end, the smoke clearly loses its creaminess and more tart aromas appear.

Der schöne dichte und cremige Rauch weist von Anfang an eine komplexe Aromenstruktur auf. Neben einer schönen Kräuternote dominieren würzige Holzaromen, welche von einer angenehmen Hintergrundsüße begleitet werden.
Gegen Ende verliert der Rauch deutlich an Cremigkeit und es treten vermehrt herbe Aromen auf.

Conclusion / Fazit:

Unspectacular but really delicious. A great everyday cigar.

Unspektakulär aber wirklich lecker. Eine tolle Alltagszigarre.

Vegas Robaina - Don Alejandro (Mar 2012)

Optics / Optik:
The cigar is dressed in a beautiful colorado. The few leaf veins do not disturb the overall picture, as well as a few fermentation faults that are only noticeable at second view. All in all a very appealing cigar.

Die Zigarre kleidet sich in ein wunderschönes Colorado. Die wenigen Blattadern stören das Gesamtbild ebenso wenig, wie ein paar wenige Fermentationsfehler, die erst auf den zweiten Blick auffallen. Alles in allem trotzdem eine sehr ansprechende Zigarre.

Cold smell / Kaltgeruch:
In the cold smell the cigar appears restrained and relatively mild. I recognize rather sweet smells of milk chocolate and some cedar wood. In the background I notice a flowery smell that reminds me of orchids.

Im Kaltgeruch erscheint die Zigarre verhalten und relativ mild. Ich erkenne eher süßliche Gerüche nach Milchschokolade und etwas Zedernholz. Im Hintergrund stelle ich einen blumigen Geruch fest, der mich am Orchideen erinnert.

1st third / 1. Drittel:
The Double Corona has a very pleasant launch. Complex wood aromas form the beginning. But also sweet aromas of dark chocolate are noticeable. Furthermore roasted hazelnuts and roasted almonds.

Die Double Corona startet sehr angenehm. Komplexe Holzaromen machen den Anfang. Aber auch süße Aromen nach dunkler Schokolade sind feststellbar. Weiterhin geröstete Haselnüsse und gebrannte Mandeln.

2nd third / 2. Drittel:
Towards the mid-section, the wood aromas concretize towards cedar wood, which I have already noticed in the cold smell. In addition there is an aromatic coffee note, which is particularly noticeable retronasally.

Zur Mitte hin konkretisieren sich die Holzaromen in Richtung Zedenholz, welches ich schon im Kaltgeruch festgestellt habe. Dazu kommt hier eine aromatische Kaffeenote, die besonders retronasal feststellbar ist.

3rd third / 3. Drittel:
The more the cigar reaches the end, the more the sweet aromas of the beginning disappear. The cigar becomes increasingly tart. The wood aromas clearly dominated here. They are complemented by some leather and espresso aromas.

Je mehr sich die Zigarre dem Ende nähert, umso mehr verschwinden die süßen Aromen vom Anfang. Die Zigarre wird zunehmend herber. Die Holzaromen dominierten hier deutlich. Ergänzt werden sie durch etwas Leder- und Espressoaromen.
